Pay online with TelPay

Now you can pay for MEA events online regardless of where you bank in Canada, at no additional cost to you.

Terms used in the TelPay system:

  • TelPay Biller Code: The number shown in the icon above: 0076003. If you enter the site using the icon above, you should not need to enter this number.
  • Bill Account Number (or "account number with this biller"): your MEA membership number. If you are not a member, use 999999.
  • TelPay Access Number: a number issued to you by TelPay by e-mail.
  • PIN: your temporary PIN is the amount deposited into your account by TelPay. Your permanent PIN is one you choose yourself.

1. Sign up for a TelPay account

  1. You will need your MEA membership number (use 999999 if you are not a member and do not plan to become a member) and a blank cheque.
    (If you do not have your membership number contact the MEA.)
  2. Click the TelPay button above.
  3. Fill out the information on the screens. When asked if you would like to make a payment now, select NO.
  4. TelPay will send your TelPay Access Number by e-mail. Record this number for future use.
  5. TelPay will make a small deposit to your bank account. This deposit will be your 3-digit temporary PIN (takes 2–3 business days to arrive).
  6. Once you have your Access Number and temporary PIN, click the TelPay button again and complete the signup process. Record your permanent PIN for future use. Once you are signed up, you can proceed to make a payment.

2. Make a payment online

  1. You will need your TelPay Access Number and your permanent PIN.
  2. Click the TelPay button above.
  3. On the Pay Bills tab, click your MEA membership number (if you are not a member it will be 999999). (If the MEA does not appear as a biller, refer to step 9 of the Setup instructions.)
  4. Enter your payment details.
  5. The final screen has a printer icon; print this page as your receipt. TelPay will also send a confirmation e-mail with your payment details.
